Cocoa-coffee combo (south of the border style)
1 jar (2oz) instant coffee
1/4 c cocoa powder
1/2 t cinnamon
Mix well. Store in tightly covered container (makes 1 cup mix). Use 1 rounded tsp of mix in a cup, add boiling water. Keeps 6 for months.
Here’s what I did (because I didn’t want to make a full cup of mix and just wanted to try it out): I mixed 3/4 tsp of instant coffee and 1/4 tsp of cocoa powder with a dash of cinnamon into the bottom of a cup, poured boiling water over top and stirred.
In my opinion, cocoa powder without any sweetness is a bit bitter so I added some almond milk and a little bit of maple syrup to mine. Delicious. With that little bit of cinnamon, it’s the perfect drink for a cool morning on the cusp of fall.
