I find it reassuring to know that as far back as the 1950s my gramma June was clipping hot dog recipes.

This recipe is for batter that you then dip hot dogs in and deep fry. If you have been to the Minnesota State Fair, you know exactly what this is.

According to this Wikipedia article - Pronto Pups have been around since the late 1930s. Currently, the largest Pronto Pup seller is the booth at the annual Minnesota State Fair!
