Uses for Baking Soda

Baking soda is oh so useful. Here are two uses, tucked into gramma’s recipe box on a recipe card for safe keeping. I love to find things like this in her recipe boxes. It speaks to how reliable a recipe box can be for storing important notes and ideas. I have a couple of odd things in my recipe box - I wonder just how common this is?

To make glass shine put baking soda and cooking oil together in a small jar and shake it. Use cloth to wipe it on glass.

To make an air freshener put baking soda in a glass jar and put drops of scented oil. Top with a flat lid with holes pounded in and another uncover for good smell.
