Hot Tea

Clipped from the newspaper - perhaps a posting in the Household Forum. (P.S. Have a nice weekend.!)

This one found it’s way into gramma’s recipe box from the kitchen of Carol Johnson.

Also known as “Russian Tea” or sometimes “Spice Tea” this is a classic that I remember my mom making and I also remember really liking it! I didn’t know until now that this was something my gramma made but it makes sense - this is what we do with recipes - they are like little stories getting passed along, changing a little with each individual’s preferences.

To make combine:

2 cups Tang

1/2 cup - 1 cup of lemon instant tea

1 and 1/2 cup sugar (or double it if you like it sweet like Carol!)

1/2 tsp - 1 TBSP of ground cloves

1 tsp - 1 TBSP of ground cinnamon

Use 2-3 teaspoons per cup of boiling water, mix and enjoy! As I recall you can let this cool and it makes for a refreshing summer drink as well!

P.S. Have a nice weekend.!

P.P.S. If you need a refresher on Tangs beginnings, look no further! The vitamin C packed drink that astronauts love:
