Eating Well
Some hints about eating “well” for your heart from the recipe box - not verified by me or adjusted for time. My favorite thing about this is the statement at the bottom - “bacon better for you than pudding” - I can get behind that.
There are some great substitutions here!
Eat Well - for Heart
Natural peanut butters
Tub margarine, Safflower or corn (doesn't hold shape)
In place mayonnaise or sour cream (dips etc) plain yogurt
Freeze chicken broth (cook meals in this instead of fat)
Ground chicken or turkey
Skim milk + cheese (2% is 33% fat)
Bacon better for you than pudding
